Bryan Gil of Tottenham Hotspur makes it to the final shortlist for the 2021 Golden Boy award

According to Football.london, 20-year-old Tottenham Hotspur youngster Bryan Gil has made it to the final shortlist for the 2021 Golden Boy award.

The Spanish professional footballer has joined the Lilywhites this season and is yet to make any substantial impact at Tottenham. Gil is great friends with former Sevilla FC teammate Sergio Reguilon who also made the switch to the North London club and has helped him settle in his new team.

The young forward scored 2 goals and provided 2 assists in 21 matches across all competitions for Sevilla. the 20-year-old could be a great future investment in the club if he is nurtured and moulded in the right manner. The deal for Gil involved Erik Lamela going the other way to the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium.

The final list has a host of other young and exciting players like Bukayo Saka, Mason Greenwood, and William Saliba. This trio has got more considerable opportunities with their clubs as Greenwood and Saka are already developing into great talents.

The 20-year-old Spanish winger will have to work really hard if he is to cement his place as a regular in the first team but he still has a long way to go in his footballing career. Gil already notched up one assist for Spurs in the UEFA Europa Conference League against Pacos de Ferreira in the second leg of the tie. It only took the youngster 10 minutes to notch his first-ever assist for the North London club. He also played a crucial role in setting up the second goal in that match.

Gil showed a lot of promise and he could be a great acquisition by the club. His presence could also help Nuno Espirito Santo rotate his squad across various competitions during the campaign to preserve the fitness of the other key players.
