Lucas Moura gives important message to Tottenham Hotspur fans after EFL Cup victory vs Burnley
In a tweet by the Official Spurs handle, Tottenham Hotspur attacker Lucas Moura has given supporters an encouraging message post the EFL Cup victory against Burnley.
The Lilywhites have been struggling to maintain consistency in this season. The North London club have had a rocky start to life under new manager Nuno Espirito Santo. They were under huge pressure to deliver a good result after back-to-back losses to SBV Vitesse and West ham United.
Lucas Moura was the deciding factor on the day as he headed the ball past Nick Pope from a superb Emerson Royal cross. The goal by the Brazilian was enough to take the Lilywhites into the quarter-final stages of the Carabao Cup competition.
He stated that this was a ‘well-deserved win’ for the Spurs who have been struggling to get going in recent times. Nuno’s men have struggled to get going in the final third of the pitch this season. Their main striker Harry Kane has only managed to score 1 goal in 8 PL games this season.
“Thank you for your support today. You were unbelievable, amazing, and we deserved the win. COYS, COYS, COYS, COYS, COYS, COYS Let’s go!”

They have struggled offensively and lost all of their London derbies in England’s top-flight League this season. Hence the victory against the Clarets is a breath of fresh air for the Lilywhites who have now progressed into the next round.
The North Londoners haven’t won a major trophy for 13 years now and the supporters and Tottenham faithful would be getting a bit restless. After their recent dismal performances in the PL and the UEFA Europa Conference League, a domestic cup may seem like their best bet to win some silverware this season.

This was the Brazilian International’s first goal of the campaign. He had previously notched an assist in the Conference League. This may just provide the kind of boost that Moura requires to get his season going. The fans would also be hoping that the 29-year-old can rally around his mates to bring them close to glory.
