Alasdair Gold claims Antonio Conte has made no transfer demands to Tottenham Hotspur

According to Alasdair Gold, the Tottenham Hotspur correspondent for Football.London, Antonio Conte is yet to make transfer demands to Daniel Levy as he is still assessing his current squad.

The 52-year-old boss joined Tottenham early this month after Nuno Espirito Santo got sacked following a poor run of results. He has managed two matches so far and has won against Vitesse Arnhem while drawing against Everton.

Conte is known for his strict demands on the hierarchy and the players, as he is a winner by nature. He has already worked his magic with the squad, and there is a sense of optimism within the club following his arrival.

“Conte wants to get to know his squad first and analyse what he needs and who he trusts and wants to keep and who he wants out the door.”

Gold has mentioned that the Spurs boss is analysing his options within the squad and is in a planning phase at the moment. He added that transfer talks are premature, but a clear picture will be available in two weeks since the Italian would have enough opportunities to evaluate the squad.

“That’s why transfer talk seems a little premature right now but within a couple of weeks things should become clearer.

The Italian’s arrival has resulted in sentiment among the supporters that we will finally splash some funds in the transfer windows. However, reckless spending would be the last thing we need since a change under the new regime is what we want.

Spending in the market is one thing but money doesn’t always equal success. There were already high hopes for the former Inter Milan coach when he arrived, and his actions so far have justified those thoughts.
