Tottenham Hotspur starlet Giovani Lo Celso reacts after helping Argentina qualify for the FIFA 2022 World Cup
The Argentian players at N-17 had something special to celebrate after their last match against Brazil, and Giovani Lo Celso took to Instagram to share his happiness after he helped Argentina qualify for the FIFA 2022 Qatar World Cup.
The international break was filled with a lot of positives for many of the Spurs players. Harry Kane went on to score back-to-back hattricks and Son Heung Min converted from the spot in their latest fixture against Iraq.
Despite the good news, there was also a sad blow to the Lilwyhites as young defender Cristian Romero sustained an injury in the last match of their qualifying campaign against the Selecao. Antonio Conte would be hoping that these players can bring the same level of excitement and commitment when they return to N-17.
Lo Celso was filled with joy and he put a beautiful message on his feed. He has backed his nation and mentioned how proud he was to be part of this group. The English translation of his Instagram caption reads:
“What a beautiful way to end the year. Proud to be part of this group. We are in Qatar!!! LET’S GO ARGENTINA”
While Cristian Romero had to be substituted in the 53rd minute due to his injury, Giovani almost played till the end of the match and was only brought off the pitch in the 86th minute. The game was very tepid affair as both the teams struggled to break the deadlock on the night.
The 25-year-old has struggled to cement his place in the North London club off late. There could be tough competition for his place at Spurs with the likes of Tanguy Ndombele and Dele Alli vying for similar roles in the club.
The Lilwyhites used to take a more defensive approach under former manager Nuno Espirito Santo with the double pivot of Oliver Skipp and Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg. Antonio Conte is known for a more exciting brand of football that demands more attack-minded players.
