Antonio Conte believes extra recovery time could favour Norwich vs Tottenham Hotspur
According to an interview on the official Tottenham website, as quoted by Football.London, Tottenham manager Antonio Conte believes that despite going through a horrible period in the Premier League, Norwich wouldn’t be an easy opponent due to their extra recovery time which could work in their favour.
The Canaries are currently the bottom-most team on the Premier League table. They have only won 2 of their 14 games and remain in the relegation zone. Despite their poor start to the season, Antonio Conte has acknowledged their threat.
Today’s game against the Canaries would be the fourth Premier League game Antonio Conte would manage as Spurs boss. While he has won 2 of his last games, he needs to continue this winning run to achieve the top-four spot.
The former Inter Milan manager pointed out the strengths of Dean Smith’s team ahead of their match up.
“They are well organised, and they want to play football.”
The Italian also suggested that Norwich would have the advantage of extra rest time than the North Londoners. Norwich played out a 1-1 draw against Newcastle United on Wednesday while we had a late London derby against Brentford on Thursday night.
“We know everything about the situation we are going to face. Norwich played two days before us, so we have less time to recover.”
Even though the 52-year-old manager has been putting effort into the team, positive results are needed to convince the fans and the board. Friday’s win vs Brentford was a great display of the players’ aggressiveness we have been expecting under his guidance. However, they had the chance to acquire a better result.
Today, the former Chelsea manager would expect similar intent from his team. Even though less recovery time could play a vital determinant in the game, Spurs players should be ready for the challenge.

It cannot be used as an excuse for not being able to beat a team in the relegation zone. We ourselves had plenty of rest in recent days when our game against Burnley was postponed due to bad weather.
A bigger worry would be their newfound form under the former Aston Villa manager. Unbeaten in 4, Norwich are in a good vein of form. Spurs must look to nip that in the bud today as we stand the chance to go fifth in the table once again.
