Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta makes offer to Tottenham Hotspur coach Yaya Toure

According to the Mirror, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has offered his help to Yaya Toure, who is currently involved with Tottenham Hotspur for gaining coaching experience.

Yaya Toure experienced some extraordinary achievements as a player. The Ivorian player has played more than 700 professional matches and earned much silverware during his time with Barcelona and Manchester City. He has now entered management as a way of carrying on his love for the game.

One of the most revered midfielders of his generation, the former Manchester City and Arsenal man has started his managerial journey and currently working towards achieving experience.

Toure acted as an assistant manager for the Ukrainian team Olimpik Donetsk. Currently, he is working with the Russian side Akhmat Grozny. However, the former City player voluntarily joined Tottenham to get a profound close look at top-flight football from a coaching perspective and now works alongside Dean Rastrick and Chris Powell.

However, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta‘s recent offer could sway Toure’s mind elsewhere.  The Spaniard closely followed Toure when he has the assistant manager to Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola. In a recent press conference, the Gunners manager gave Toure the freedom to contact him to inquire about coaching methods.

“He has my number because we spent some years together. He’s a player I appreciate a lot, and he has my number and can ask me the question.”

Arteta thinks the former Barcelona player can contribute to the game from off the pitch as he holds years of experience and knows what it takes to become a champion.

“He certainly has the experience, the expertise and won a lot in the game to add value to the game for sure.”

Spurs could use the Ivorian’s vast knowledge about football. Toure is young in the coaching realm. However, if he becomes successful in deriving the formula of becoming a top coach, he can assist current manager Antonio Conte in managing the team, even though such a scenario seems tough to imagine right now.

Toure played for some of the biggest clubs in Europe and Arsenal, and had a knack for winning silverware wherever he went. While Arteta’s offer isn’t really formal, it remains to be seen if the France legend gives up the chance to work under a world-class manager in Conte for a relative novice in Arteta.
