Tottenham manager Antonio Conte says he is enjoying the Christmas period
According to Sky Sports’s Premier League Twitter account, Tottenham manager Antonio Conte revealed that he enjoys the Christmas period despite managing a deep concentration on training sessions to prepare for matches.
The Italian joined Tottenham in the previous month and has since shaken things up at the North London club. The Italian manager is undefeated in the Premier League with Spurs in the current campaign. The former Inter Milan manager made several changes in the diet and training sessions and has implemented strict regulations for his players.
In a recent press conference, Antonio Conte emphasized the importance of Christmas among the British and suggested how football plays a significant role in providing them with an enjoyable experience.
“This must period is a period that make you happy. I think is a amazing period for many person. In England, you live this period with football.”
The Italian manager also emphasized the importance of keeping part and concentrating on training sessions. The former Inter Milan manager further added that he enjoys the festive period.
“For sure, I lived this experience in my past and enjoyed a lot, and now I’m living again, and the spirit must be happy because the period for me is a fantastic period during Christmas.”
The past few weeks for Tottenham, however, hasn’t been joyous. Spurs have experienced a sudden covid surge in the squad, and many vital players spent time in self-isolation during December. Due to the covid downpour, three of the North London team’s games were postponed initially.
Even though Tottenham have the option to play the postponed Premier League games at some point during 2022, the same hasn’t been possible for their European fixture. UEFA remained strict regarding their set time range to find an agreeable date to replay the fixture against Stade Rennais. However, Spurs couldn’t find such a date and got eliminated from the tournament after facing a 3-0 loss by default.

Even though Tottenham didn’t have any new covid case, the aftermath doesn’t look bright as at some point Tottenham have to play their postponed games. The Premier League schedule is already hectic, and on top of that, Tottenham have to deal with extra pressure.
The players would get less relief time and a heavy workload amid such a time, which could take a toll on their fitness. Therefore, looking at the scenario, Antonio Conte’s comments look contrasting regarding Tottenham’s Christmas period.
