Transfer News: Tottenham Hotspur to “push hard” for Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele
According to the Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo via Sport Witness (h/t The Express), Tottenham Hotspur are ready to “push hard” to sign the Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele amidst interest from several European clubs. He has attracted attention following the update regarding his contract situation.
Dembele will see his contract with the Catalans expire at the end of the current campaign. He has refused to sign an extension which opens up the possibility of Tottenham getting his services. They will put pressure on getting his services as the January transfer window will shortly open.
Manchester United, Newcastle United, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are keeping tabs on the 24-year-old as they try to facilitate a future move. But “everything indicates” that he would prefer a transfer to Premier League, which plays into the hands of Spurs.
Dembele to join Spurs?
There would be concerns and excitement among the fans when thinking about the possibility of the Frenchman moving to N17. The wariness would be from his injury struggles that caused his failure in recapturing the magic he had shown at Borussia Dortmund and Stade Rennes.
The enthusiasm would be the prospect of signing a highly rated attacker who is yet to attain his potential. Under proper guidance, he could still achieve that as he has many years left in his playing career. Antonio Conte could be just the man for the job since he has already improved several players right under our noses.
If Conte gives his approval in signing the Barca forward, Fabio Paratici has some unfinished business to take care of. The latter had previously failed to get the France international during his days at Juventus so, he would be eager not to repeat it if he gets a second chance.

Since the La Liga star prefers a move to England, the obvious obstacle to our goal would be Man United. Paratici would need to get the job done and, we may have an advantage comparing the two squads. We have more spots that need to be filled in the attacking areas meaning he has more chances to earn minutes with us.
That’s not all, as we have looked better sporting wise under the Italian manager and would continue to do so if we keep on the same trajectory. Time will tell where he would end up playing, but we hope that it would be at the North London club.
