Juventus approach Cagliari for Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Nahitan Nandez
According to Italian news outlet Calciomercato (h/t Yorkshire Evening Post), Juventus have enquired about the availability of Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez, who is a transfer target for Tottenham Hotspur. He has been a crucial presence at his current club since moving to Italy back in 2019.
Juve are considering the possibility of signing Nandez in the January transfer window, which has prompted them to approach the Sardinia-based club. He could be available for sale this month for a fee of £16.5million, with Tottenham also having shown interest.
Leeds United are another side that is keeping tabs on the 26-year-old in an attempt to get him to boost their injury-plagued squad. With the winter transfer window already underway, we could see more information regarding this matter in the coming days.
Could Spurs sign Nandez?
The right-midfielder has often been carrying his team by ensuring that they survived relegation over the past couple of years. The scenario has been similar this season as their future in the Italian top flight is hanging in the balance at the moment.
The Uruguayan can play in central midfield, which is always a bonus to have for any team. He is an able passer of the ball from out wide while he is no pushover in defence either.
The Serie A star’s profile is certainly an attractive one, with Antonio Conte getting the option to start him as a right wing-back if needed. The boss has previously highlighted the lack of quality of crosses from the wide areas, which has contributed to our recent slump in results.
As such, if we do end up signing the Uruguay international, he would provide important depth in key areas of the squad. Emerson Royal hasn’t been the most potent attacking full-back while Matt Doherty has largely been a flop since joining from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

We need reinforcements this month, so Fabio Paratici has to make sure that we do not lose out on the Serie A wide-man if there are no other options on our list. He would make for a smart acquisition and it is undeniable that we are a more attractive team to play for right now- with a far more lucrative project to offer- than relation-threatened Cagliari.
