Transfer News: Paris Saint-Germain enter negotiations with Tottenham Hotspur to sign Tanguy Ndombele on loan transfer
According to The Guardian, Paris Saint-Germain are involved in transfer negotiations with Tottenham Hotspur to sign Tanguy Ndombele on a loan deal. He has fallen down the pecking order under Antonio Conte and did not make the matchday squad in the past two fixtures.
PSG are engaged in talks with Tottenham on the subject of the terms involved in a potential deal. They are in discussion to address the issue of wages and if the latter would pay a part of it or not. With not many days left in the January transfer window, both teams would need to reach common ground soon if they want to conclude this deal.
Ndombele is interested in the idea of joining the Ligue 1 club this month which is understandable considering the current plight he is going through. A buy option could be included for them to activate at the end of the season, so Spurs may have a chance to recoup some of the £55.45million transfer fees, excluding the add-ons, that they paid for him.
PSG, Spurs’ saviour?
The 25-year-old has truly hit an all-time low as he was made to train individually by Antonio Conte. Since he’s not involved with the rest of the team and the fact that he did not make the matchday squad for the past two games, it is not too much of a reach to say the boss has deemed him dispensable.
It seems the game against Morecambe in the FA Cup third-round was the last straw in the Frenchman’s career at N17. If anything, he brought this situation upon himself after taking a long time to get subbed off despite the team losing 1-0 at that point.
There were hopes that Conte could help the Tottenham star find his feet at N17 after the ex-Lyon ace struggled in the latter stages of Jose Mourinho’s reign. But staying true to the pattern, Ndombele failed to build on the early promise that he showed under the former Inter Milan boss, and is currently far removed from being a regular starter here.
Mauricio Pochettino signed him for us when he was in the managerial helm at the North London club. Maybe, he could help the France international regain the promise he had shown at Olympique Lyon if he signs him at PSG. In the process, we could be assisted in our efforts to get Ndombele off our books, and maybe even recoup a fee in the process.
This could then be used towards bringing in other players to the club. Conte, after all, is not closed to the idea of signing players at the club in the near future. And it makes sense, given that he can only truly stamp his identity on the team if he has the players he needs to be in the positions he wants them to be in.

Facilitating this move would be in the best interest of all the parties. A return to the French league may be what the Spurs ace needs ahead of the FIFA World Cup, considering that is where he made a name for himself. It remains to be seen where he would play in a PSG midfield that is stacked with big names already.
But that wouldn’t be our headache once we move him on this winter- if a club agrees to take him in, that is. Hopefully, a deal comes to a conclusion this month and we can move on with the season.
