Some fans react as Tottenham Hotspur lose third straight Premier League game in a row
It was another laborious day at the office for Tottenham Hotspur as they slumped to yet another defeat, this time against Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Lilywhites have now lost three Premier League games in a row which has further dented their blow in a bid for a top-four finish this season.
The visitors opened the scoring early in the game with Raul Gimenez. Leander Dendoncker quickly doubled that lead with a great strike in the 18th minute. The Spurs backline was shaky from the opening kick of the match.
Antonio Conte had to make a tactical tweak which saw them sub off Ryan Sessegnon for Dejan Kulusevski to bring a bit of stability as they switched to a back four. Whilst the Lilywhites slowly grew into the game, they lacked the clinical touch to actually trouble the visitors on the day.
The second half saw the North Londoners dominate more possession and trouble José Sá on a few occasions but it was a little too late by then. Their defensive woes were once again on display as the defensive duo of Davinson Sanchez and Cristian Romero never looked to be settled in the game.
Rodrigo Bentancur had his first start for the North London club and had a few twitchy moments in the first half. His frustration and that of the players were evident late in extra time when he got a yellow card for making a rash tackle on Hwang Hee-Chan.
The Italian manager would have been frustrated with another dismal performance by Spurs and the hopes of UEFA Champions League qualification seem like a distant reality with every match. Wolves on the other hand have been extremely impressive and have now notched up four consecutive away wins in a row.
Let us now take a look at how Tottenham Hotspur fans reacted as their team suffered another disappointing defeat at home.
