Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min match major PL record as Hugo Lloris reaches another milestone

According to the Tottenham Hotspur site, Tottenham Hotspur duo Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min equalled the record for the most goal contributions in the Premier League.

The Lilywhites recorded a famous victory against Manchester City in their latest Premier League outing. Spurs put on a spirited performance to put three past the Citizens on the night. The second goal saw a beautiful cross from the Korean international as the English striker got on the end of things.

Whilst that goal put the North Londoners ahead for the second time in the game, it also helped the duo come on level terms with Didier Drogba and  Frank Lampard for a total of 36 goal combinations.

After facing some tough results in their previous fixtures, the Lilywhites had a great outing at the Etihad which felt like the epitome of a fairy tale. Eric Dier was also back in the side after being on the sidelines for some time now.

The attacking duo currently holds the record of the most goal combinations in a single season with 14 combined contributions in the 2020-21 season. Over the years Son and Kane have cemented themselves as key attacking figures at N-17.

Hugo Lloris is another player to have reached another milestone in the game against Manchester City. He became only the 12th Spurs player to make 400 appearances for the club. The French goalkeeper has also been a dependable presence at the back through the year. He may have had a few hiccups in the last few matches but that should not overshadow his longevity and service for the club.

There is still a lot of work to be done if Tottenham Hotspur want to compete at the elite level in Europe and England in the years to come. The victory against the defending Premier League Champions would certainly go a long way in boosting morale and inducing confidence in the club.

Summer signing Dejan Kulusevski had a memorable game too in his first Premier League match for the North London club. Whilst Harry Kane and Son are within touching distance of breaking the all-time goal combination record for the PL, fans would be hoping that Spurs can chalk up more victories to push for a UEFA Champions League qualification spot next season.
