Harry Kane to make Tottenham Hotspur contract decision based on two conditions

According to the transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, Tottenham Hotspur superstar Harry Kane will decide to extend his contract or not depending on whether two conditions can be met in the future. His recent performance against Manchester City showcased why he needs to stay at N17 to ensure that the Antonio Conte era succeeds.

Kane is currently happy with life at Tottenham, and his feeling regarding Conte is the same ahead of the summer transfer window. Spurs would love to tie him down on a new long term contract, but the centre-forward would not take a firm stance at this stage.

Conte wants the Englishman to become the face of the current project that he is building at Spurs. However, February and March will be too early for the English skipper to decide his future. Champions League and the North London side’s transfer strategy are claimed to be the two crucial factors that would influence his stance in the future.

Champions League and transfer strategies are two key factors that influence Harry Kane’s future.

Fair conditions!

The 28-year-old could be adopting a wait and see approach to garner if he genuinely has a shot at achieving titles that have eluded him for too long. Moreover, since his contract will be up only in the summer of 2024, Kane probably would want to make a reasonable decision regarding his future.

As such, Daniel Levy must carefully plan his transfer policy to convince the Premier League ace to pledge his long term future with us. We must show more intent in the transfer window, unlike last January where we lost out on Adama Traore and Luis Diaz to Barcelona and Liverpool respectively.

At the same time, this piece of information also sends a message to the 52-year-old boss. He has previously expressed that Champions League qualification is a near-impossible task to achieve within the first season. It seems he may be forced to do just that to ensure that he can keep hold of the “star” of his new project.

We are currently eighth in the league table with 39 points to our name from 23 matches. Manchester United are currently in fourth place with 46 points, having played three more games than us. We still can take over the Champions League spot from them if we win the pending fixtures at hand.

That being said, we must be wary about Arsenal, who have three more points than us while playing the same amount of matches. Both Conte and the Tottenham board must do what they need to do if they hope to keep hold of their prized asset.
