Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane reveals secret behind his prolific partnership with Son Heung-min
According to London.Football, Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has revealed how he and Son Heung-min broke the Premier League’s scoring record for a duo.
The Premier League has gifted the football world some of the most lethal striking partnerships. Be it Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo or that of Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard at Chelsea; they have left a massive influence on the game. In the last few years, a new partnership has taken the English top-flight by storm.
Tottenham secured a convincing 4-0 victory against Leeds United last night. While the scoreline was to be expected, Kane and Son also earned themselves a place in the history books. Son’s goal yesterday, assisted by Kane, marked their 37th strike as a partnership. They have now beaten the previous record of 36 held by Chelsea greats Drogba and Lampard.
When asked about the same in the post-match press conference, Kane suggested that they understand each other’s approach very well because of playing together for a long time.
“I mean, we’ve been playing with each other now for a long, long time, and you know, we just understand each other’s games well and obviously when I kind of drop deep, Sonny knows kind of where to run, and hopefully I’m able to put him in, and you saw that for the last goal.”
The three lions captain also lauded the Spurs team and revealed that he enjoys playing with the South Korean star. With both players at their peak, there is little to stop them from extending the record further.
“We enjoy playing together like we said, the most important thing is the team, though, and another fantastic display from everyone.”
Where would Tottenham be without Kane and Son?
By giving incredible performances game-after-game, Kane and Son have put their name in the Elite category of Spurs players. The duo remains the difference makers for Tottenham this season.
