Laon Watch: Tottenham Hotspur loanee Troy Parrott continues to shine at MK Dons
According to football.london, Tottenham Hotspur loanee Troy Parrott has continued to earn plaudits for his performances at MK Dons in League One this season.
The forward moved to the lower league side on loan for the entire season at the start of the 2021/22 campaign in a bid to get more first-team minutes on the pitch and hopefully work his way into the Spurs team.
The player was lauded by his boss Liam Manning, who said that the striker always puts the team first and goals will soon follow him if continues with the way he is playing at the moment.
“[Troy] has progressively got better. He’s desperate to score, but he puts the team first. He does that, and the goals will come.”
It is ironic that in a season where Tottenham are desperate for consistent attacking performers, we have one of our own playing brilliantly away from us. Hopefully, he can keep this form up and turn out for our senior squad next season.
“He’s in a good spot”
Parrott was voted the man of the match in Dons’ 2-0 win at Bolton the previous weekend by The MK Citizen, saying that the player had a ‘sensational all-round game’. The victory ensured the Dons kept their winning streak for a third straight game.
Manning was full of praise for his striker, saying he always worked for the team and urged the Spurs loanee to continue to maintain his current level and push himself.
“He needs to keep pushing himself, but the biggest thing is what he does for the team. His work-rate out of possession, his threats, his movement – he’s in a good spot and we have to keep him there, keep pushing him and making sure he maintains his level.”
The 20-year-old seems to be loving his time in League One, turning into a player that the fans love and the manager can rely on. Parrott is expected back at the club ahead of next season and will hope that his impressive performances deem him worthy of a place in the first-team squad.
The player’s talent is obvious to see, having already become an international star with the Republic of Ireland team. His young age has never proved to be an issue for him, as he has let his qualities on the pitch do the talking for him.

Antonio Conte may want to keep a close eye on the striker, given how good he has been at leading the line for Dons this term. Spurs currently don’t have a natural backup striker to Harry Kane, and it would be a wise move to integrate Parrott into his first team if he continues to improve.
Hopefully, the Irish forward is able to keep this up until the summer. He would know, after all, that another local boy in Kane started off similarly – trying to make a name for himself elsewhere on loan spells before becoming an icon for the Lilywhites. It is only going to do him good, as he looks to further his development and get to play for the senior team after coming through the academy.
