Predicted Tottenham Hotspur line-up to take on Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League

Tottenham Hotspur vs Brighton has all the sparks to turn into a fierce contest. The Spurs suffered a humiliating defeat at Old Trafford courtesy of Cristiano Ronaldo’s hat-trick. Antonio Conte’s men would get far away from the top four-spot if they lose to the Seagulls. The situation is tense for Graham Potter’s team as they haven’t registered a win in the last five matches.

Tottenham is 6 points away from the top-four spot of the Premier League. Even though the North London team have two games in hand, Manchester United, West Ham and Wolves are advancing with all their might. Anything other than a win at American Express Community Stadium would diminish their chances of securing a competitive spot on the table. ṣ

Team News

Tottenham defender Japhet Tanganga has been struggling with a knee problem lately, and midfielder Oliver Skipp has a groin problem. The two stars didn’t appear in the Spurs’ game against Manchester United. Their situation hasn’t improved so the duo wouldn’t be involved in the Brighton clash.

Left wing-back Ryan Sessegnon missed the Manchester United game due to muscular problems. The Englishman is still under threat; hence it is improbable that the former Inter Milan manager would risk him for the coming Brighton match.

Probable Tottenham Hotspur XI

Formation: 3-4-2-1

Hugo Lloris (GK)

Hugo Lloris didn’t have a good day at Old Trafford; as a matter of fact, he struggled. However, there are very few showstoppers as experienced and reliable as the Frenchman in the Premier League to this day.

Cristian Romero (CB)

Despite some injury hiccups, the Argentinian defender has given some decent performance. Considering it’s only his first season, there is a lot to come from the young centre-half.

Eric Dier (CB)

Since he arrived at the North London club, the English defender has been Antonio Conte’s first choice. Performance-wise, the Spurs have conceded six goals in the three Premier League matches Dier has missed in this campaign.

Ben Davies (CB)

Naturally a left-back, Ben Davies has performed exceptionally in the three-person backline. After Antonio Conte arrived, the Welsh man has missed just one match in the Premier League.

Matt Doherty (RWB)

Doherty lacked some game time during the first half of the season. However, he has made his comeback to the good grace of the Italian manager by directly contributing four goals in Tottenham’s last three Premier League games.

Rodrigo Bentancur (CM)

Since his arrival from Juventus in January, the Uruguayan missed one match in the Premier League due to knee problems.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (CM)

One of the top performers for Tottenham in this campaign, Hojbjerg has excellent game awareness. With the addition of his top-notch passing skills, he has been the core of Antonio Conte’s midfield.

Sergio Reguilon (LWB)

Ryan Sessegnon’s injury has given Reguilon the chance to showcase his skills and cement his position in Conte’s starting XI.

Dejan Kulusevski (RW)

Already proving to be a lethal weapon, Kulusevski has strengthened the depth of the Tottenham squad. As long as the Swedish winger puts up the awe-inspiring performances, the Italian manager wouldn’t have any problem starting him.

Harry Kane (ST)

Even though Kane’s start to the season was slow, he has picked up the place since the arrival of Antonio Conte. It is improbable that the former Inter Milan manager wouldn’t involve such a striker who has scored four goals in the last three matches against Brighton.

Son Heung-min (LW)

Tottenham’s leading scorer and assist provider of the season, Son’s business, is far from finished. The South Korean is fit and ready to cause all kinds of problems for Brighton’s defence.

Tottenham Hotspur VS Brighton prediction

Brighton is struggling to keep up with the hectic Premier League schedule. Tottenham has put in some outstanding performances against top teams under Conte’s supervision. Even though it wouldn’t be a one-sided affair, the Spurs have the edge to get all three points. We go with a 2-0 win for the lily whites.
