Tottenham Hotspur could target Torino striker Andrea Belotti this summer

According to the Italian newspaper Tuttosport [Print Edition] via Sport Witness (h/t The Mirror), Tottenham Hotspur could plot a move to target Torino striker Andrea Belotti in the summer transfer window. He is in line to leave his current club after this season which gives the English side the opportunity to make their case depending on their stance.

Belotti has less than six months left in his current deal, which means that he could be available on a free transfer this summer. Tottenham could move for him at the end of this season as they look to solve the crisis in the centre-forward position. Harry Kane has no backup option, so they are looking to address that issue with their pursuit of the Serie A attacker.

Spurs are hoping that Belotti would be the solution to their current plight as he seems set to leave the Italian club after this campaign. Fabio Paratici and Antonio Conte could use their connections in Italy to tempt the 28-year-old to move to N17, helping them to gain an advantage ahead of potential competition.

Belotti to join Spurs?

Signing a backup for Kane is essential for us, considering how our talisman needs to be kept fresh throughout the season. That is not possible under the current circumstances, which have adversely affected us for quite a while.

There have been times when the England skipper sat on the sidelines, and we suffered heavily in the process. Not to mention, he has also been affected by tiredness since he has to be utilised in games where he could have been rested with a backup.

Furthermore, we also have to prepare for any potential injuries and suspensions that Kane could be subjected to in the future. Belotti would be a solid option overall, but it remains to be seen if he would accept a subdued role compared to a starter role at his current club.

Belotti has failed to build on his promise a couple of years ago and has stagnated since then. With injuries also plaguing his career, his chances of a move to a bigger club have dwindled during this period.

Perhaps, we could offer him such an opportunity even though the Italian international’s minutes may be reduced with us. It will be interesting to see if he would accept our proposal or not in the summer transfer window. That is if we make an offer in the first place.
