Transfer News: Real Madrid showing interest in Tottenham Hotspur superstar Harry Kane
According to the Spanish source Fichajes (h/t Manchester Evening News), Real Madrid have expressed an interest to sign Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane in the summer transfer window. He has been in fine form over the past few months, having turned a leaf over his poor displays when compared to the start of this season.
Real’s interest in Kane is a surprise, to say the least, considering how it seems that they are expected to sign Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe after this season. However, it appears that they are looking to make a late move to sign the Tottenham star this summer.
Manchester United are also in the transfer race, which makes life difficult for Spurs if they hope to keep Kane past this term. The Englishman has a current valuation of more than £100million in transfer fees, but it remains to be seen if the Madrid club would be willing to match that asking price or not this summer.
Madrid to cause concerns?
If this news is believed to be true, we would be dealt a damning blow, considering how they are in a far better place than us at this moment. Then again, the 28-year-old was also targeted by Manchester City last summer, but Daniel Levy fended off their interest by pricing them out of a move.
Levy must do the same this time around, considering how the Spurs talisman is contracted at N17 until 2024. That means we still have a year or so left to keep hold of the centre-forward if the club maintains their stance like the previous summer.
Antonio Conte is currently in the process of building a project at the North London club, which means that we cannot afford to lose the Premier League attacker. After all, we need to support Conte and back him with signings rather than parting ways with our best players.

Hence, Fabio Paratici and co must block the approaches from Los Blancos at all costs. The English skipper would obviously want to win titles in his career. We finally can provide him with the opportunity to do so at his childhood club with the help of a world-class manager like Conte.
Winning silverware with your lifelong club and helping to put an end to the trophy drought would always be a better prospect than winning it elsewhere. We remain hopeful that Kane will stay with us for all these reasons as we near the summer transfer window.
