Tottenham’s last three Premier League games previewed

Published

on

Entering the final month of the English Premier League, there’s still all to play for, with clubs battling for position throughout the division. We are down to a two-horse race for the league title at the summit as Manchester City aims to hold off challengers Liverpool’s attention.

At the opposite end of the ladder, five teams have the threat of relegation to the Championship hanging over them, including Everton and Leeds United.

Tottenham won’t feature in the title race, as fans would have hoped when setting out their expectations in pre-season, but they do have a chance of finishing in the top four.

With Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea stamping their name on three of the top four places, the race is on to fill the remaining slot. As we speed towards the finish line, Spurs must see off the attentions of Arsenal and Manchester United. That’s expected to go right down to the wire.

The offer betting on the Premier League, and you can make your predictions and place bets on where Tottenham will finish. Will Spurs end fourth, grabbing their spot in next season’s UEFA Champions League or will it be an agonising finish for a support that has already been put through the wringer this year?

We aim to help with your betting picks with all to play for. Will Spurs finish fourth? The results of their last three games of the season will have a huge say in that.

Read on as we look at Spurs’ last three fixtures and how Antonio Conte’s men performed against those teams earlier this season. As we speed towards a dramatic Premier League finish, it pays to keep your cool and stick with the stats.

Tottenham v Arsenal – Thursday 12th May

The season’s final three games begins at home for this North London derby. This will be the second Premier League game of the season between Spurs and the Gunners, with the previous meeting ending in a 3-1 win for Mikel Arteta’s side.

That was another thoroughly entertaining match for the neutrals, and the bulk of fans inside the Emirates enjoyed their day, but it was a painful one for the Spurs loyal. Arsenal sprinted into a 3-0 lead that day before the ever-reliable Heung-Min Son notched a consolation goal.

This derby match is always important to the fans, but it’s crucial with both teams vying for the top four at this late stage of the season. The winner of this match is likely to finish fourth and bag their spot in the Champions League.

Tottenham v Burnley – Sunday 15th May

Spurs enjoy home advantage for the second game on the bounce when hosting lowly Burnley, and there’s a lot at stake here.

Tottenham will be hoping to still be in the running for the prize places while the Clarets have only one thing on their mind – avoiding relegation.

These sides have met twice in the EFL Cup and EPL this season, with the head to head stats showing one win each.

The first match was at Turf Moor in the cup when a single goal from Lucas Moura won the day, but the Clarets claimed their revenge in the league with a 1-0 win at the same venue. Burnley caused an upset by winning 1-0 thanks to Ben Mee’s strike late in the day.

Who will get the win here? A draw isn’t the result either side want or need. They know it’s all about the three points if they are to reach their goal of playing in Europe’s elite or escaping the bottom three, securing EPL football next season.

Norwich v Tottenham – Sunday 22nd May

The final game in Spurs’ season comes from Carrow Road, and this match will be the home team’s last match at this level for a while.

The Canaries will be playing in the Championship next season, and there’s nothing they can do here to avoid that. Will the locals roll over and accept their fate or aim to go out with a bang?

Tottenham won 3-0 when these teams met in the league in London last year, with the goals scored by Lucas Moura, Davison Sanchez and Son.
