Tottenham Hotspur set to table a transfer bid for Eintracht Frankfurt star Filip Kostic this summer

According to The Express, Tottenham Hotspur are willing to make a transfer bid for Eintracht Frankfurt star Filip Kostic this summer. They are eager to snap him up at the end of this season after scouting him in the Europa League final victory against Rangers.

Kostic impressed Tottenham with a splendid display in the final, which has prompted them to set up an offer after the current campaign. He is valued in the region of £25million and could be in line to move to the Premier League with just one year left in his contract in the summer transfer window.

Antonio Conte is a keen admirer of the Serb, and he is intent on moving for the wide-man this summer. Spurs were interested in signing Kostic back in January, but they were not ready to make a bid, which is not the case right now. Perhaps they could finally get their target this summer but whether that will happen remains to be seen.

Spurs to finally sign Kostic?

Kostic was also named the Europa League Player of the Season for his splendid performances in Frankfurt’s run to the title. He even played a part in the crucial equaliser, which eventually led to penalty shootouts. It is no wonder why the North Londoners are setting up a proposal as the 29-year-old would probably have left a mark among the scouts.

Despite nearing the twilight of his playing career, Kostic has maintained himself quite well and has been free from injuries over the years. His characteristic would certainly match Conte’s demands for wing-backs as they have to be able to play a greater part in the attack while doing their regular duties in defence as well.

Kostic has certainly done that, and his performances against the likes of Barcelona and West Ham United would point out that he can replicate them in the Premier League as well. That being said, his current manager Oliver Glasner did suggest after the Europa League final that the Serbian could stay with them moving forward.

That could be a bit of a problem for us if the German side remains adamant not to sell their star man after this term. Then again, we should make a strong offer in any case as we could perhaps look to change their minds with a bid this summer.

Kostic’s current valuation is not too expensive as it certainly seems reasonable for someone who has lit up the Bundesliga in the past few campaigns. Perhaps, he could do the same in England next season but let’s wait and see whether we would make a bid or not in the first place.
