Transfer News: Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Nordi Mukiele
Nordi Mukiele has given solid performances consistently for RB Leipzig in this campaign. In 32 matches across all competitions, the 24-year-old has defended the German team’s backline with sheer commitment and strong effort. However, the French international is currently eyeing a new challenge in his professional career.
It is believed that despite having only one year left in his current contract with RB Leipzig, Mukiele doesn’t want to renew his deal and wants to leave the German club at the end of the current campaign. The German team’s plans also align with the defender’s intentions as the club wants to raise funds for fresh reinforcement through his sale.
Mukiele has attracted interest from Atletico Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur in recent times. Due to the French team’s tepid transfer approach towards the 24-year-old, the other concerned teams are eyeing to take the advantage of the race.
The Frenchman is expected to have a price tag of £17million. As Spurs have received a financial boost after their principal investor pledged to invest a significant amount, money might not be the problem if they eyes to secure the transfer of the 24-year-old.
How can Nordi Mukiele help Tottenham?
Antonio Conte has favoured a defensive backline with three central defenders during his tenure at Tottenham. Even though Cristian Romero has shown massive improvement, the Italian manager still hasn’t found his third man in the backline and has been obliged to useful-back Ben Davies instead.
The North London team are expected to offload available defenders like Japhet Tanganga and Joe Rodon. If one or more central defenders leave the club, the squad depth would decrease and Conte might feel an instant requirement.
Mukiele ticks all the boxes of being a top-notch cereal defender. As he is entering his peak years, Tottenham might be able to enjoy the best of him. However, in order to achieve such a result, our board has to register a genuine transfer offer to Leipzig.
