Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Yannick Carrasco but faces huge competition
According to transfer news on Spanish outlet Fichajes (h/t The Sun), Tottenham Hotspur target Yannick Carrasco is in the midst of significant interest from Premier League clubs.
In recent weeks, the Belgian international has put in some great displays for Atletico Madrid. The 28-year-old, who is mostly used as a winger, can also be used as a wing-back if necessary- as he has been at times during his time in Spain.
In recent seasons, he has been a mainstay for the Colchoneros. He has 219 appearances for Atletico Madrid and has been an integral component of Diego Simeone’s setup at the Wanda Metropolitano. It may be difficult for any team to take him away from Atletico as a result of this.
Tottenham, however, are interested in bringing in Carrasco. Antonio Conte is apparently set to lose left wing-back Sergio Reguilon and he would be hoping to secure a quality reinforcement in the summer window to fill that void, if that is the case.
However, signing the 28-year-old star wouldn’t be easy as apart from Tottenham, Newcastle United and Aston Villa are also keeping close tabs on the quality wideman.
Spurs managed to sign Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur after ultimately letting go of Dele Alli on a permanent transfer and numerous others on loan agreements, despite not being able to net other targets.
In the latest season, Antonio Conte attempted to build his brand of high-octane attacking football at N-17. While the Italian coach did not have the luxury of a pre-season, he would hope that the players would buy into his vision after spending some time with the team.
Carrasco has a wealth of elite-level experience at Atletico Madrid. As Spurs attempt to reduce the gap at the top, the club could need a boost in quality. That said, we’ll have to make do with what we’ve got for now.

Carrasco may seem like a nice option, but Spurs would have to battle out with a series of big clubs for his transfer. Antonio Conte is noted for his ability to work his magic on players and bring forth their greatest qualities.
If the Belgian unites with the Italian boss, then he would surely be playing under a man who would go to any extent to bring out his best qualities. With Ivan Perisic’s arrival, question marks can be raised over Carrasco’s potential arrival, but the club shouldn’t be averse to adding quality, versatile players if they are presented with the chance.
