Fabrizio Romano: Tottenham Hotspur are set to make more transfer signings this summer

According to the reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, Tottenham Hotspur are set to make more signings to back Antonio Conte in this summer transfer window. They have already made a mark in their attempt to support the manager ahead of the next season.

Tottenham have already completed two transfer moves, which is indicative of their clear intentions for this summer. Fraser Forster and Ivan Perisic have joined them after leaving Southampton and Inter Milan, respectively, and their additions are quite important to maintain good squad depth ahead of a long campaign.

Now, Spurs are getting closer by the minute to signing Yves Bissouma from Brighton and Hove Albion as well. He has passed his medical tests recently, and the two clubs have already completed the paperwork ahead of the move. Now, all that is left is the final details regarding the personal terms, after which an announcement will be made shortly.

Spurs going all out!

Fabio Paratici has done a remarkable job by supporting Conte with the right additions since the boss took over the managerial role. There were concerns about our transfer business when we lost out on Liverpool’s Luis Diaz and Adama Traore of Wolverhampton Wanderers last January.

But Paratici did quite well to deal with those setbacks by bringing in Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur from Juventus. Both of them played a major part in helping us achieve Champions League qualification for the upcoming season.

Now, it seems that the North Londoners are continuing with their smart business, having signed Forster and Perisic on free transfers. Forster would be a solid backup addition for Hugo Lloris, while Perisic would bring in the experience, which would be useful to nurture Ryan Sessegnon moving forward.

More importantly, our summer arrivals so far have not cost a penny, which means that we are left with room to make more signings to back Conte in the market. It was previously claimed that the owners would be making a £150million cash injection to the transfer budget to help in that regard.

Bissouma would only cost £35million, including bonuses which still leaves us with more room to make additions this summer. As such, Romano’s confirmation about more signings does hold some weight, so it will be interesting to see who the incomings would be in the future.

Middlesbrough’s Djed Spence, for example, has been linked with a move to N17 for quite some time, so perhaps he may be one of those signings that we will make this summer.
