Transfer news: Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement with Everton for Richarlison

According to The Athletic (Subscription Required), Tottenham Hotspur and Everton have reached an agreement in principle for the transfer of Richarlison. He is scheduled to undergo a medical today at Spurs.

The final price is yet to be reached, but according to the report, Tottenham may pay a fee in the region of £50million with a potential £10million add-ons.

Spurs have been interested in signing the forward since the start of the transfer window. And now it seems that they have finally gotten their man- one who seems ready to take the next step in his career.

He could become the fourth signing for Tottenham this summer after the club already announced the arrivals of Ivan Perisic, Yves Bissouma and Fraser Forster.

A right move?

Spurs have been interested in the Everton man for quite some time. His potential move could help in sending out a message to other Premier League rivals that Tottenham mean business come the next season.

The Brazilian forward has been a key figure at Goodison Park ever since his move from Watford in 2018. Last season he played a crucial role as he helped Frank Lampard’s side avoid relegation.

Richarlison made a total of 30 league appearances and scored 10 crucial goals and set up 5. Now it seems his chapter at Everton is coming to an end, with a new one set to begin at Tottenham.

The 25-year-old hopes to test himself on the European stage and Spurs can give him such a platform, having qualified for the Champions League on the last day of last season.

His signature would allow Antonio Conte to add to the attacking depth available to him and also help in increasing the competition among attackers in the team. The Brazilian can play on both sides of the wings apart from his natural position of centre-forward.

It will be interesting to see where Conte deploys the man. The Italian is not short of attacking threats with already having Harry Kane, Son Heung-min, Dejan Kulusevski and Ivan Perisic in his ranks. Richarlison could have an interesting next season and so could Tottenham.
