Several Tottenham fans rejoice as club announces the transfer of Richarlison for £60 million
Tottenham Hotspur have announced the signing of Richarlison from Everton on their official Twitter handle. The Brazilian has completed his move to the North London club for a fee of £60 million, which includes add-ons, according to football.london.
The 25-year-old has made his move to Spurs after being heavily linked with a move to the club. The North London and Merseyside club came to an agreement on Wednesday and the striker completed his medical on Thursday.
Tottenham fans will soon be able to get the first glimpse of Richarlison in a White shirt as it’s believed he’ll fly out on 9 July to South Korea for Spurs’ pre-season tour.
Richarlison bids farewell to the Toffees after four years in Merseyside. The Brazilian scored 53 times in 152 appearances for the Goodison Park side.
Everton struggled last season and were on the brink of relegation. The 25-year-old striker was pivotal in the Toffees’ survival race, scoring 10 and assisting five in the league.
Now, in North London, Richarlison will compete at the highest level. With Champions League football next season, the ambitions of the club are evident with this signing.
The Brazilian’s versatility will be key for Antonio Conte. Playing primarily as a centre-forward last season, the 25-year-old has played across the frontline in his time with Everton. The club have got themselves a decent addition to stand-in for Harry Kane when needed.
Richarlison comes into a side with one of last year’s Premier League Golden Boot winners. Son Heung-min was formidable for Spurs in the previous campaign. With the addition of the Brazilian, the squad has been strengthened further.
