Tony Cascarino: Gabriel Jesus is better than Tottenham Hotspur star Richarlison
Tony Cascarino while speaking to Talksport(h/t Mirror), said that Gabriel Jesus to Arsenal was a better signing than Richarlison for Tottenham Hotspur. His comments come after Spurs announced the Brazilian’s signing from Everton.
Meanwhile, Tottenham’s arch-rival, Arsenal are said to have reached an agreement with Manchester City for the transfer of Gabriel Jesus, for an initial fee of £45 million. On the other hand, Richarlison moved to Spurs for a deal potentially worth £60 million.
“I think Gabriel Jesus ticks a lot more boxes and they’ve got him at a better price. If you said to me now who will get the most goals, I’d say Gabriel Jesus would get more goals than Richarlison for Tottenham. And he’s more versatile than Richarlison.”

Richarlison became the fourth signing for Antonio Conte this summer after the Italian had already secured the services of Ivan Perisic, Yves Bissouma and Fraser Forster; as his international team-mate potentially makes a move to the other side of north London.
Both Brazilians are already established forwards in the Premier League and share very similar playing styles. Their potential rivalry could be a treat to watch for neutrals.
A north London rivalry between the Brazilians?
Apart from similar playing styles, both the players share very close numbers with Jesus upping Richarlison by only a few goals. The 25-year-olds are separated by only 10 goals in the Premier League. Jesus has 58 goals in 159 appearances, while Richarlison has 48 goals in 172 appearances.
Last season, Richarlison played a vital role to help his side survive relegation. He netted 10 goals and assisted five in 30 appearances to keep Everton in the League. While Jesus played mainly as a substitute scoring eight and assisting nine in 28 appearances as City won the League on the last day of the season.
However, this will not be the case this season. Richarlison could potentially partner up with Harry Kane and Son Heung-min while Jesus could play as the number 9 along with Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka. Their rivalry could be an interesting one to see as both have made or are about to make big-money moves to their new sides.
Tottenham fans are excited about the new season as the club has been very active in the market. Antonio Conte has been revamping his squad with the hope of winning some silverware with the Lilywhites. And by judging the signings and his 3-4-3 style of play, we could potentially win an honour next season.
