Napoli are interested in Tottenham Hotspur star Giovani Lo Celso
According to Area Napoli (h/t The Mirror), Napoli have emerged as a potential destination for Tottenham Hotspur outcast Giovani Lo Celso.
The Argentine, who joined Spurs in 2019 from Real Betis, has had a difficult time for the bulk of his time in North London due to injuries and inconsistency in form.
Lo Celso was loaned to Villarreal in January, and despite making an impression, the Yellow Submarines have had trouble negotiating a contract to get him back this summer. He played a key role in their run to the UEFA Champions League semi-finals last season.
Lo Celso came back to Spurs in the summer to begin preseason practise, but he was left out of the team for all three of the club’s friendlies. Since he hasn’t yet been included in Antonio Conte’s preseason preparations, he might have played his last game for the club.
Napoli’s Zielinksi has been linked with a move to West Ham United. The Italians are keen to replace the Polish ace should the move come to pass and have identified Lo Celso as the ideal replacement.
The Serie A club is aware that the 26-year-old is not in Antonio Conte’s immediate plans, and he might fancy the prospect of moving to Naples. Spurs are open to letting him go permanently for about £16.8 million or as part of a loan agreement with an obligation to buy after 12 months.
Given his positive experience there, it is clear that Villarreal might be Lo Celso’s favoured location. If Unai Emery’s team is able to clear some spaces, the midfielder’s transfer to El Madrigal will proceed more quickly.

The aforementioned news linking Lo Celso to Napoli seems to be having a cascading effect, but if it is true, it would enable Spurs to start talks with Napoli about Lo Celso.
Given the amount they previously spent on him, the Spurs must sell him this summer and hopefully do so in a trade that nets them some money.
