Fabrizio Romano: Tottenham Hotspur to complete Destiny Udogie transfer next week

According to popular Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, Tottenham Hotspur are set to complete a deal for talented Serie A starlet Destiny Udogie next week before loaning him back to Udinese for the upcoming campaign.

The transfer links of Udogie to Spurs have really intensified in recent days with the Lilywhites said to be very keen on securing a deal for the highly rated Italian despite agreeing to loan him back for next season.

Udogie joined the Serie A club from Hellas Verona at the beginning of the last campaign and has since then gone on to become a huge signing for the Italian club. He is a solid talent who has a great future in the game.

Anyone who has seen the talented left-back knows that he is extremely attack-minded and loves getting forward at every given opportunity. He has even been played further upfield on the rare occasion.

At 19 years old, it is a bit shocking when you realise Udinese is already a regular starter. He has played 37 times for the Serie A club last season scoring five goals and providing three assists across all competitions.

With Udogie set to be loaned back to the Italian club, it will be some more time before Tottenham fans get a glimpse of what Udogie is capable of. However, this is the best decision for the player.

Spurs already have enough and more options at left wing-back going into the new season. Croatian veteran Ivan Perisic is a favourite to start whilst we have the talented Ryan Sessegnon for backup.

We also cannot forget the presence of Sergio Reguilon. The Spaniard has fallen out of favour with Antonio Conte and has been asked to leave but there is a chance he could end up staying if no deal is finalised.

More Tottenham News:

In that case, Conte could reintegrate Reguilon into the team if the need arises and hence, it is not a necessity for us to have Udogie here. He can continue his development at Udinese and come to us as a more experienced player.

It seems like we are about to land on our next gem, thanks to the strong Italian connections that we have. Destiny Udogie will be a good signing for the future.
