Arsenal could hand funds to Villarreal for signing Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso
Arsenal potentially buying Yeremy Pino from Villarreal could hand the Spanish side funds to sign Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso, according to Radio Villarreal (h/t Metro).
The 19-year-old has an €80million release clause in his contract, and the Spanish side is open to cashing in on him. They would also be willing to entertain offers that fall in the region of €60million.
The Yellow Submarines expected big offers for Arnaut Danjuma and Pau Torres. That hasn’t happened, and hence, they could let the Gunners sign Pino if the offer is right.
Villarreal have been heavily linked with a move for Lo Celso recently. However, they need to get in some cash before they can look to buy more players this summer.
Tottenham to let Lo Celso leave?
Lo Celso is apparently not wanted at Tottenham and the club is open to parting ways with him. His absence against AS Roma in our last pre-season friendly and the Premier League opener against Southampton tells us all we need to know.
The former Real Betis man could finally leave Spurs after failing to find favour under Antonio Conte. The Italian manager allowed him to leave on loan this January where the Argentina international joined Unai Emery’s Villarreal.
They reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League but lost to Liverpool. The La Liga outfit is also linked with a move for another one of our fringe first-team players, Tanguy Ndombele.

It remains to be seen what will happen with regards to these transfers in the coming weeks. However, if Spurs don’t want the duo, they would hope that Villarreal can cash in on Pino and Arsenal can potentially assist us in getting rid of two players that the club evidently doesn’t want.
