Transfer News: Former Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Thimothee Lo-Tutala joins Hull City

According to BBC, Hull City have completed a move for former Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Thimothee Lo-Tutala this summer.

The 19-year-old rejected a contract from Spurs this summer, which means the Tigers will have to pay a compensation fee to the Lilywhites. Lo-Tutala never made a senior appearance for Spurs.

However, he was a regular for the U18 and U21 sides. He even has 14 caps for France’s U19 team and it became evident that he would leave N17 to get more playing time elsewhere.

Luckily for us, Hugo Lloris doesn’t seem to be hanging up his boots as of now. The 35-year-old continues to be our first-choice goalkeeper and did not receive much competition from Pierluigi Gollini for that spot last season.

The Italian goalie is back at Atalanta but Spurs managed to sign Fraser Forster on a free transfer as a backup for the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner with Les Bleus. There will come a time when Spurs will have to look for a replacement in that spot, given that Forster is 34.

Perhaps a loan move for Lo-Tutala would have made sense for us but it is on the club if they left it too late in renewing the youngster’s contract.

It remains to be seen if the youngster will be able to get regular playing time over Matt Ingram and Chelsea’s Nathan Baxter, who has joined the Tigers on loan. Hopefully, he does because those who have seen our development teams in action know all about Lo-Tutala’s potential.

More Tottenham News:

He was amongst a number of players that left the club last month, including fellow young goalkeepers Isak Solberg, Kacper Kurylowicz, and Josh Oluwayemi.
