Tottenham Hotspur ace Harry Kane surpasses Sergio Aguero’s one-club goal record

As confirmed by the club’s official Twitter account, Harry Kane has surpassed Sergio Aguero’s one-club Premier League goal record as the 29-year-old netted his 185th top flight goal for Tottenham Hotspur in their 1-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers,

The England captain was the difference as Spurs managed to escape with all three points. The London side were lacklustre in the first half but came out much better in the second. Wolves will be disappointed with leaving without a point after a very good performance.

However, it was Kane who looked will again come to the rescue of his side. The striker scored a header from the corner in injury time last weekend against Chelsea to help his side avoid a defeat at Stamford Bridge.

This was also Kane’s 250th goal for Spurs in all competitions, 16 behind Jimmy Greaves who holds the Spurs’ all-time scoring record. Ivan Perisic started the game and he was the one who provided the assist to Kane for his goal. Richarlison came off the bench and almost got his first goal for the club.

Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg was fantastic in the middle of the park as he pulled all the strings in the midfield today. Davinson Sanchez started the game in place of Cristian Romero, who is out injured.

Kane has been phenomenal for Spurs ever since cementing his place in the team. A goal-scoring machine, he has established himself as one of the best strikers in England and the world. The 29-year-old does not look like stopping and will have his eyes set on breaking Alan Shearer’s record of 260 Premier League goals.

Victory against Wolves takes Antonio Conte’s side top of the table, at least temporarily. Conte will know he was lucky to have escaped with all three points, but cannot depend on such luck for every game.
