Paddy Kenny believes Tottenham Hotspur will not accept any offer for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg
According to former Leeds United goalkeeper Paddy Kenny while speaking to Football Insider, he has said that Tottenham Hotspur star Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg will struggle to turn down an offer from Real Madrid. However, he adds that Spurs are not likely to accept any offer for the 27-year-old.
The Telegraph (subscription required) had earlier reported that the La Liga outfit were targeting Hojbjerg as the potential replacement for Casemiro. Casemiro joined Manchester United this summer.
While Football Insider is confident that the Spurs midfielder will stay at the club this summer, Kenny has claimed that the club will not accept any offer for their midfielder.
When Real Madrid come calling, it is tough to say no. If they come in for him, it will be tough for him to turn that down but I don’t think Spurs would sell him in the first place.”
Since his arrival from Southampton in 2020, the 27-years-old midfielder has become synonymous with Spurs midfield. He played a very crucial part in helping the north London side clinch a fourth place finish on the last day of last season.
The Denmark international played 48 times for the Lilywhites in all competitions, scoring three and assisting four in the process. He has continued his fine form this season too, starting in all three games and scoring one crucial goal against Chelsea.
Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur have established a formidable partnership in the middle of the park. Antonio Conte has bought in Yves Bissouma to help increase the competition in the midfield department. It will be wise for the 27-year-old to stay at his present club rather than leave for Los Blancos.
Madrid has tons of options for their current midfield. Should Hojbjerg leave, he will likely get less minutes as compared to here and he could also become a bench player. This is something that he will want to avoid with the World Cup in November.

A fan favourite, it is very unlikely that the midfielder will leave with little time remaining till the summer deadline day. However, anything can happen and it could be interesting to see what happens if Madrid do bid for the holding midfielder.
