Antonio Conte rules out two Tottenham Hotspur players for Nottingham Forest clash

Speaking at a press conference before Tottenham Hotspur’s game against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League (h/t NottinghamshireLive), Antonio Conte stated that Cristian Romero and Oliver Skipp will miss the clash with their respective injuries.

The Argentina international missed our last PL game as well when we beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0. Skipp, meanwhile, has missed the start of this campaign after an injury he suffered in training.

“About Cuti [Christian Romero], Cuti’s recovery is going very well. I think at the start of next week, like [Oliver] Skippy, they start to have the training session with the rest of the team, but they are not available for this game.”

Spurs take on the Tricky Trees on Sunday, August 28 and look to go to the top of the Premier League table once again if results go their way. Only Arsenal boast a 100% record in their first three games.

Brighton & Hove Albion, Leeds United, and Manchester City all have seven points – the same as Spurs. Conte further added that Lucas Moura and Bryan Gil haven’t trained today (August 26) and could miss out on the game as a result.

“I have to check a couple of situations about Lucas [Moura] and [Bryan] Gil because today they didn’t have a training session with us but we have tomorrow to make the right decision for both players.”

Romero’s place was filled by Davinson Sanchez in defence last weekend against Wolves. Gil and Moura, meanwhile, are not first-team starters as of now but their potential absence on the bench could be a big miss.

In attack, it is expected that Son Heung-min and Harry Kane will start, as they usually do. But it remains to be seen if Dejan Kulusevski retains his place or if Richarlison is handed a start in attack.

More Tottenham News:

Forest have four points from three games so far. The PL newboys come into this game on the back of a 3-0 Carabao Cup win against Grimsby Town in the second round. They have also been drawn against Spurs in the third round of that competition in November.
