Ex-Aston Villa man Gabriel Agbonlahor gives pleasant Tottenham Hotspur top four prediction for this season
Tottenham Hotspur finished in fourth place last season after Antonio Conte cleaned up Nuno Espirito Santo’s mess and helped the club make the UEFA Champions League spots.
The Italian did have his tough times but gradually, we look like a team that has finally settled well. Conte’s first summer transfer window resulted in the club making seven signings for the senior team.
The likes of Ivan Perisic and Richarlison have ensured that the Italian manager has ample depth in important positions. According to former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor, Spurs could finish this season better than last time.
Giving his top four-prediction, he told TalkSPORT exclusively:
“Top four for me will be, in first place, Manchester City. Second place, Arsenal. Third place, Spurs, and fourth place, Chelsea.”
Always controversial when you leave out teams like Manchester United and Liverpool from top-four predictions but there is no reason why the Lilywhites can’t finish above them this season.
The Red Devils had a tough time last season as well, courtesy of which they are currently playing in the UEFA Europa League. Meanwhile, a weak summer transfer window for Liverpool has ensured that they are no more a threat than they were last season.
Spurs, meanwhile, have been unbeaten in the Premier League. We have 17 points from seven games. A win against Arsenal in the north London derby on October 1 could take us top of the tree if Manchester City’s result goes in our favour.
