Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane sends message to England fans for Nations League tie vs Germany

Tottenham Hotspur stars Eric Dier and Harry Kane played the full 90 minutes in England’s disappointing loss against Italy on Friday, September 23, at the San Siro.

As a result, the Three Lions have been relegated from their UEFA Nations League group, which could complicate matters for them with regards to qualifying for the UEFA European Championship in 2024.

The immediate focus, however, lies on the FIFA World Cup. Kane, who was largely quiet in the 1-0 loss against the Italians, has called on fans to fill Wembley for their sixth and final Nations League group game against Germany.

He wrote on Twitter:

“We know results haven’t been what we wanted. As a group we know what we’re about and will fight through a tough period. Full house at Wembley against Germany will be great World Cup preparation.”

Gareth Southgate’s England take on the Germans at Wembley in London on Monday, September 26. The Three Lions have been, in all honesty, horrific when put in a group with quality opponents.

This has seriously raised questions over Southgate’s managerial credentials when his team come up against the biggest teams in the World. Hungary sit atop League A Group 3 with 10 points from five matches and play Italy next.

It would be unfair to say that the English national team hasn’t taken the Nations League as seriously as they could have. However, their fans would hope that this is the case, otherwise, if this is the kind of drab football they play in Qatar, then the nation stands no chance of winning their first FIFA World Cup in 56 years.

Kane is a shoo-in for the 26-man squad that will be announced in the coming weeks and will wear the captain’s armband. After the clash against the 2014 World Cup champions, Kane will return to Hotspur Way and prepare for the Premier League outing against Arsenal on October 1.
