Andreas Skov Olsen of Club Brugge responds to Tottenham Hotspur’s scouting missions

According to the Express, Tottenham Hotspur have reignited their interest in Club Brugge star Andreas Skov Olsen after their prior interest in the player before his move to Bologna in 2019.

Spurs did not sign the then-19-year-old Olsen then, but have now rekindled their interest in the Denmark international. The 22-year-old right-midfielder moved to Brugge this summer and signed a contract that expires in the summer of 2026 (Transfermarkt).

He has managed to score six goals and provided three assists in 12 games across competitions for his new club. And it is claimed that Antonio Conte’s Tottenham sent scouts to watch him play in his team’s 4-0 UEFA Champions League group stage win against FC Porto.

Olsen played 71 minutes in that encounter and managed to score a goal as well. Spurs scouts apparently watched him play once again during this international break, where he was called up by Denmark.

What next for Olsen?

Then former Nordsjaelland started for his country against Croatia and France. The Danes lost against the Croats by a 2-1 scoreline but secured a massive win over Les Bleus, where Olsen got on the scoresheet.

Talking about Spurs’ apparent interest in him to Tipsbladet (h/t the Express), the player mentioned that his current club know that he won’t stay there forever. Like many other players, the young Dane also dreams of playing in the Premier League one day.

“It’s hard to say. Many things can happen. I believe that Club Brugge know that I will not be there forever. (Moving to Belgium) is a step that I needed, and then we’ll have to see what happens in the future.”

“It is, of course, the Premier League. It’s the biggest thing to be able to play there one day, but I haven’t thought that far yet.”

A little about Olsen, he is a player capable of playing on the right flank in attack as well as a right-sided midfielder. Conte’s experiment with Lucas Moura in that position during the pre-season break shows that he is open to playing an attacking winger as a right-wing-back if needed.

More Tottenham News:

Emerson Royal and Djed Spence are there to play in that position right now, while Matt Doherty continues to struggle for chances. But that doesn’t necessarily mean that Spurs shouldn’t pursue a talented youngster like Olsen, who can also be utilised well in attack.
