Romano explains Tottenham Hotspur have two ways to sign Dejan Kulusevski permanently in 2023
There are two ways through which Tottenham Hotspur can sign Dejan Kulusevski permanently from Juventus in the summer of 2023, as per Fabrizio Romano.
The first option is where the obligation to buy the player for €35million activates when he plays 20 matches in the Premier League for 45 minutes or more and Spurs qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
Secondly, there is a buy-option clause where Spurs can purchase him outright even if some conditions aren’t met. There are said to be “no doubts” that Spurs will permanently sign the Sweden international next year.
Spurs are on course to qualify for the Champions League and perhaps even challenge for the title if they keep up this form. They have 17 points after seven league games – the same as Manchester City, who lead on goal difference.
A brilliant signing
Both Spurs and the Cityzens are unbeaten but despite a loss, Arsenal lead the table with 18 points. As for Deki, he has been involved in every match so far for us this season and is on course to meet the conditions for the buy clause to activate.
He has started for us in six out of our seven league games so far, but came on as a substitute in both the UEFA Champions League group stage matches. The 22-year-old was called up for international duty this month for Sweden’s Nations League games.
