Spurs Transfer News: Everton’s approach for Tottenham target Daichi Kamada ‘immediately rejected’
Everton’s move for Tottenham Hotspur transfer target and Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Daichi Kamada has been almost ‘immediately rejected’, as per German outlet Bild (h/t LeedsLive).
The 26-year-old Japan international is in the final 12 months of his contract with the German giants. He has been an important player for them recently and played a big part in Frankfurt’s UEFA Europa League win in 2022.
However, he could leave the club as a free agent next year as he is currently in the midst of a contract dispute with them. This would naturally pique the interest of top European clubs.
The Toffees, along with Spurs and Leeds United, have been linked with the former Sagan Tosu star. He currently has an impressive tally of six goals and three assists in 10 games across competitions from midfield this season.
Where will Kamada fit?
Kamada is an attacking midfielder who can also be deployed behind the centre-forward. Currently, there is no clearly cut-out space for a number 10 in Conte’s famed 3-4-3 formation at Spurs.
However, we can never count out the former Inter Milan manager trying different set-ups or Kamada being playing in central midfield if he does come to N17. 3-4-1-2 is generally a formation that allows for a natural number 10 to play ahead of the midfielders.
However, it seems that any move to sign Kamada in January will be implausible. The club’s sporting director Markus Krosche has recently said:
“For us, it is not a goal to give away key players in the winter break. We
want to keep our key players,” when asked about the situation.”

Hence, a move for the Japanese star in January is said to be ‘out of question’. If he doesn’t pen a new deal with Die Adler, then signing him for free at the end of this season is an opportunity that Spurs would be foolish to miss out on.
