Brighton injury news: Roberto De Zerbi hopeful Moises Caicdeo will play vs Tottenham Hotspur
Brighton & Hove Albion manager Moises Caicedo is hopeful that Moises Caicedo will be fit for playing against Tottenham Hotspur.
Speaking in his latest pre-match conference ahead of the Premier League encounter against Tottenham on October 8 at the Amex Stadium (h/t SussexLive), he said:
“Moises Caicedo didn’t work with the team yesterday but we will look again today at the situation. I don’t think there will be a problem.”
The Ecuador international signed for the Seagulls last year in the January transfer window and has come into his own this term. He started all seven league games for them so far and the 20-year-old’s abilities on and off the ball make him a dangerous man in the middle.
Graham Potter really found a gem in the youngster, who has now been passed on to new boss De Zerbi. The game against Spurs will be his first home game in charge.
Enock Mwepu, Pascal Gross, Adam Lallana, Alexis Mac Allister, and Billy Gilmour are all options he can use in the middle of the park against us if Caicedo isn’t fit by then.
For us, the equation has been simple – Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur have started together most of the time when fit. It is a pairing that manager Antonio Conte trusts.
It remains to be seen if the air of sentiment forces the Italian manager to start Yves Bissouma. After all, Djed Spence’s only PL appearance this season came against his old club (albeit on loan), Nottingham Forest.
