Dejan Kulusevski and Lucas Moura to miss Tottenham Hotspur game due to injury but Eric Dier returns

Tottenham Hotspur forwards Dejan Kulusevski and Lucas Moura are set to miss the game against Brighton & Hove Albion later today due to injury, according to The Athletic (subscription required).

Kulusevski has been out on the sidelines since he sustained a problem on international duty for Sweden last month. The 23-year-old has already missed the games against Arsenal and Eintracht Frankfurt.

Moura will be absent from another Spurs game after Antonio Conte confirmed that the Brazilian “will be out for a while”, earlier this week.

The 30-year-old last played for the north London club against Chelsea in their 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge in August. He has since then not featured for the club.

Emerson Royal will also not be available for selection. The 23-year-old was sent-off during the 3-1 defeat to Arsenal, earlier this month. He will also miss the games against Everton and Manchester United as he serves a three-match suspension.

Meanwhile, Eric Dier will be available for selection. The 28-year-old has started all the games this season for Conte in all competitions and will hope to continue that record against the Seagulls.

Moura hasn’t really played a lot for us especially after Deki and Richarlison’s arrival so his absence isn’t a massive blow. Bryan Gil, meanwhile, could get some minutes off the bench as he did against Eintracht Frankfurt in our 0-0 Champions League draw.

Down the right flank, it remains to be seen what Conte does. Ivan Perisic started as a right-wing-back when Emerson was rested vs Leicester City, while he also has Djed Spence and Matt Doherty – both of them, however, have seriously struggled to find favour under Conte.

Conte’s men will come into this match having drawn their previous game 0-0 in the Champions League against Frankfurt. The Seagulls have proven themselves to be a tricky opponent to face this season.

More Tottenham News:

The home side sit fourth on the table with 14 points, three behind us and also have played one game less. A win will be necessary to get the team back on track and also cut short the lead that arch-rivals Gooners have sitting on top of the table.
