Antonio Conte confirms Richarlison will miss Tottenham – Manchester United clash due to an injury
Speaking in the post-match press conference after Tottenham Hotspurs’s 2-0 win against Everton as quoted by Football. London, Antonio Conte has confirmed that Brazilian star Richarlison will miss the clash against Manchester United due to a calf issue.
It comes as a huge blow to Conte who is already without the services of Dejan Kulusevski with the Swedish winger struggling to come back from an injury. Now, with Richarlison also out, Spurs suddenly find themselves short of attacking options.
Tottenham had an impressive 2-0 win against Everton with Harry Kane and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg netting for the Lilywhites. They have put the pressure on the teams above them and can go into the weekend feeling good.
The clean sheet will also be a huge boost for Tottenham in the win against Everton as the defence stood rock solid yet again. A lot of positives for Conte to take back from last night’s game and he will be a happy man.
One negative that he would be ruing is the fact that Richarlison got injured. The Brazilian has impressed in his short stint as a Spurs player and has quickly established himself as an important player for Conte.
Speaking about the injury, Conte did not seem very optimistic, even going on to confirm that the Brazilian will miss the Man United game.
“Yeah for sure he’s out against Manchester United. He felt something in his calf and he won’t be available for that game. I think he needs a bit of time to recover. It’s a pity because we are talking about a player that gives us a lot of quality but at the same time also is strong and he improves our intensity”
The hectic October schedule was expected to take a toll on players but Spurs would not have seen it coming so soon. Richarlison will be a huge miss and this definitely means Conte will have to shift to a 3-5-2 for the time being unless he chooses to field Bryan Gil or Lucas Moura.

Man United midweek will by no means be an easy clash for Spurs. It remains to be seen what Conte comes up with, but the most likely option looks like picking an extra midfielder in place of Richarlison and that will not be a bad thing at all.
