Juventus honcho Pavel Nedved has ruled out a swoop for Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte
Juventus vice-president Pavel Nedved has ruled out any swoop for Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte and has backed his club’s coach Massimiliano Allegri.
Allegri has been under pressure of late after his club have no chance of qualification to the Round of 16 in the Champions League and could potentially play in Europa League for the second half of the season.
In the Serie A too the Old Lady have struggled as they currently sit seventh on the table with 22 points, 10 behind leaders Napoli.
Conte has been linked with a move to a Turin-based club and it is believed that the Italian was stalling on signing a new deal with Spurs for the same. The boss sees his current contract expire at the end of the season, although the club has the option to extend it for another year.
But now, Nedved while speaking to DAZN (h/t The Irish Sun), has ruled out a move for Conte and has backed Allegri at Juventus.
“Our position is always the same, what we always said: the club, players and everyone have full faith in coach Allegri. It’s normal when not getting the wins Juve expect that names will emerge in the media, there will probably be more, but we remain firm on our position. We’ll give him the opportunity to do his work and do it well.”
Conte has previously managed the Old Lady for three seasons. He has been at Tottenham since January of this year and has done a phenomenal job at the club so far. The Italian helped his side secure Champions League football last season on the final day.

The north London club are third on the table with 26 points, five behind leaders Arsenal. The club also leads their Champions League group with seven points, needing only one more to qualify for the next round.
