Tottenham star Lucas Moura reveals that he continues to play through the pain

Speaking in an interview ahead of the Premier League clash between Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool as quoted by Mail Plus, Tottenham star Lucas Moura revealed that he is still playing through pain from the heel injury that kept him out earlier this season.

However, the Brazilian did say that it is a part of a footballer’s life to manage injuries and play with them and that he has no problems with doing it. Moura’s availability has now become even more crucial for Spurs.

Dejan Kuluseveki and Richarlison have had their share of fitness struggles this season and the biggest blow of them all came against Marseille with Son-Heung Min fracturing his eye socket and getting ruled out for probably until the World Cup.

This means that English captain Harry Kane is the only proper superstar attacker in the team and Conte will have to rely on Lucas Moura and Bryan Gil to help him get through the next few matches.

Considering how reluctant the Italian tactician has been to play Gil in matches in the Premier League, it is likely to be the Brazilian forward who will get a chance to impress in the absence of the South Korean.

Speaking about the injuries and the fact that he is playing through the pain, Moura did not make a huge fuss about it.

“It’s my tendon in the heel. I keep doing the treatment to play and I can play with the pain, that I can manage. It’s normal for a footballer. We are used to playing with injuries.”

With not much time left now before the strange mid-season World Cup break dawns upon us, Tottenham will want to go into it with a good showing in their next three games and continue to put pressure on the top of the table.

Sitting third in the table, a couple of points below Manchester City and five points below the league leaders Arsenal, Conte and his men will know that one more slip is likely to push them back in their title push.
