Tottenham close in on signing Atalanta attacker Ruslan Malinovskyi
According to Italian publication Il Giorno (h/t Express), Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on signing talented Ukrainian attacking midfielder Ruslan Malinovskyi from Atalanta in the January transfer window.
It is not the first time we are being linked with Malinovskyi though with the name of the player doing rounds even in the summer when Tottenham were on a signing spree and looking to add the talented attacker to their ranks.
The talented 29-year-old has been a part of Atalanta since 2019 and has really impressed with his performances. He would be a great fit for a team like Tottenham and there is no surprise that Antonio Conte is keen on having him.
Malinovskyi has played 11 times for the Italian club this season scoring one goal and providing one assist across all competitions. He has a contract that expires in 2023 (transfermarkt) and Tottenham may land him on a bargain in January.
It is being claimed that £13m would sufficient for the Lilywhites to snap up the player they want. it would be a fairly decent fee considering the talent of the Ukrainian and also what he can bring to the team.
Although Conte’s team do not really play with an attacking midfielder, it could be more down to the lack of one rather than the fact that he does not want to play such a formation in North London.
Past Conte teams have used attacking midfielders
like Christian Eriksen and there is no doubt that Malinovskyi will have a huge role to play at Hotspur Way if he indeed makes the move here.More Tottenham Hotspur News

It remains to be seen if Tottenham manage to get a deal over the line for a player they have wanted for quite some time now. Let’s hope they do just that as the Ukrainian will be a good addition.
