Tottenham Hotspur could battle Manchester United and Everton for Ghana star Abdul Fatawu Issahaku
Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, and Everton are apparently interested in signing 18-year-old Ghana international Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, as per Portuguese outlet O Jogo (h/t Scottish Sun).
Man United could keep an eye on him if he does travel to the FIFA World Cup in Qatar with Ghana. However, it is said that the Red Devils are prioritising a new striker in the January transfer window with Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at the club uncertain.
Hence, Spurs would have to be quick if they want to sign the highly-rated teenager. Still just 18, Issahaku is making big strides.
He joined Sporting CP this summer and signed a contract that expires in the summer of 2026 (Transfermarkt). The examples of Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo – both signed by Manchester United from the Portuguese club – show how Sporting CP have been a hotbed for young talent in recent decades.
What should Spurs do?
Issahaku would envisage something similar. He has played in six games across competitions this season for manager Ruben Amorim’s side but is yet to score or assist.
He has made 13 senior appearances for Ghana already and could make their final 26-man squad for the World Cup. Hopefully, the Lilywhites are one of the parties keeping an eye on his progress there.
Given that he just moved to Spurs this summer, it would be a surprise if the Portuguese side are willing to part ways with him so soon – especially if the offer doesn’t entice them.

It’s best for Spurs to wait, keep a track of his situation, and strike when the opportunity is right. We don’t want another Bryan Gil-type situation whereby a talented winger comes here just to warm the benches.
