Real Madrid put off by the age and price-tag of Tottenham Hotspur star Son Heung-min; PSG interested
Real Madrid will not pursue the signing of Tottenham Hotspur star Son Heung-min, while Paris Saint Germain (PSG) could once again reignite their interest, according to El Nacional (h/t The Sun).
Los Blancos were keeping an eye on the 30-year-old. However, they have been put off by the South Korean’s age as well as the price tag that Spurs could demand for him. Thus, Florentino Perez has opted not to make a move for the forward.
However, the Parisians may reignite their pursuit. They have been linked with Son in the past. And Nasser Al-Khelaifi could use the World Cup in Qatar to have a conversation with the South Korean.
Other clubs are looking at the 30-year-old’s signature as well. Premier League rivals Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea are paying attention to his situation, while Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are also in the race.
Son joined Tottenham in the summer of 2015 from German outfit Bayer Leverkusen. Since then, the forward has been one of the best players of the north London side.
The South Korean had one of his best terms in the previous campaign, winning the Premier League Golden Boot. In 45 appearances for Spurs in all competitions, the 30-year-old scored 24 goals and provided 10 assists.
Unfortunately, Son has been unable to keep his form going this season. The South Korean has struggled to make a considerable impact when he has featured. The forward has also not found the back of the net on a consistent basis.
