Son was in doubt for the tournament, which starts next week, after he suffered a fractured eye socket during his side’s 2-1 win over Marseille in the Champions League earlier this month.
He quickly underwent surgery and missed Spurs’ last three games in all competitions before the World Cup break. There were concerns about whether the Korean would be fit in time for the tournament.
But now seeing him in training with a protective mask on will bring joy to the South Korean fans. The island nation begins their campaign against Uruguay on November 24.
The country has been drawn in Group H for the tournament along with Portugal, Uruguay and Ghana. Son is expected to captain his country in this year’s tournament in Qatar.
Son made his international debut in 2010 and since then has been a regular for his country. The 30-year-old has played 106 games for his side in all competitions, scoring 35 goals and registering 17 assists in the process.
While he has been inconsistent in front of goal this season for Tottenham, fans will hope that is not the case at the World Cup. The Korean has scored only five goals for Spurs in 19 appearances in all competitions so far.

Korea are not the favourite to go all the way in this tournament. However, they have a good team and could be the dark horses. Whether Son will feature in all the games for his country is something that remains to be seen.
