Sven-Goran Eriksson believes Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane would be a perfect fit at Manchester United

Former England manager Svan-Goran Eriksson believes that Tottenham Hotspur and Three Lions international Harry Kane would be a perfect fit at Manchester United.

The Red Devils terminated Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract last month and since then have been in the market for a new striker. Currently, only Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial can lead the line, although both are not natural strikers.

Now, former England manager Eriksson while speaking to Betway (h/t Football. London), has suggested that Kane is the striker that Erik ten Hag needs.

“Ronaldo has gone now and Manchester United need an out and out number nine and Harry Kane seems the perfect fit. Kane could be impossible but they have to get something similar.”

Kane has been the talisman for the north London club ever since he broke into the first team in 2013/14 season. Since then, the 29-year-old has gone and established himself as one of the best strikers in both England and Europe.

He has been fundamental for us throughout the years. The 29-year-old has played 408 games for the Lilywhites in all competitions so far, scoring a whopping 261 goals in the process.

The England captain has been exceptional this season too, scoring 12 in 15 league games so far. His current contract expires in 2024 (transfermarkt) and it is very unlikely that he will leave in January.

Antonio Conte has been working very hard to create a team that can win silverware this season and Kane is more than likely to be the centre-piece for it. Spurs have been good so far under the Italian and it will be very surprising to see the 29-year-old leave next month.

Kane would be a natural fit for almost all top clubs in Europe. While Eriksson can believe that the striker will be a fit for the Red Devils, whether they share the same thought is something we will find out in a month’s time.
