Transfer News: Sevilla looking to sell Tottenham Hotspur summer target Isco

According to Spanish outlet Marca (h/t The Sun), La Liga side Sevilla are looking to sell Tottenham Hotspur summer target Isco, just six months after the attacking midfielder joined them.

Isco was a free agent available in the summer with Spurs and neighbours Arsenal interested in the 30-year-old. However, the Spanish midfielder decided to stay in Spain and instead made a move to Sevilla.

Now, it is being said that the midfielder has not had good behaviour. He got into a war of words with the director of football Monchi and now the club is looking to sell him when the transfer window opens next month.

The former Real Madrid midfielder has been a regular for the club so far this season, playing in 19 games in all competitions, scoring one goal and assisting another three in the process.

Antonio Conte has found success with the duo of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur in the middle of the park. But the fans have long criticized the lack of an attacking midfielder in the team.

Yves Bissouma and Oliver Skipp are also mainly holding midfielders, with Bentancur the only one capable of going forward from the midfield in the team this season. Isco, who has immense experience under his belt could help solve this issue.

However, the attacking midfielder is 30 and past his prime. While he would make a good addition to the squad, he won’t be a long-term solution to the problem. Also, given that he has had poor behaviour so far, what is the guarantee that he won’t do the same here in north London?

It will be wise for Spurs to focus on another young midfielder, rather than the 30-year-old. Rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers are also interested in the service of the former Madrid midfielder.
