Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris says adrenaline will help France overcome the virus ahead of the World Cup final
Speaking in an interview as quoted by ESPN, Tottenham Hotspur captain and French World Cup finalist Hugo Lloris has said that the adrenaline will help his team overcome the virus ahead of the final.
Argentina and France go head to head for the most coveted prize in footballing history as they look to live the World Cup in Qatar on Sunday (18 December). The former are looking for their first World Cup in many years whilst the latter look to defend their trophy.
Ahead of the all-important final, a virus has engulfed the French squad with a number of players not able to train properly due to sickness. Dayot Upamecano and Adrien Rabiot even missed the semifinals against Morocco.

However, Lloris is of the opinion that the adrenaline that accompanies such an occasion is sufficient to take his team over tomorrow and they might not have a problem due to the virus.
“We are going to try and do our best in spite of the circumstances, I think thanks to the adrenaline and the excitement we will feel we will all be fit enough and ready to do whatever we can to win this last battle.”
France and Lloris have had a very good World Cup run so far but they will know that it will not be easy to get past Lionel Messi and Argentina who seem more determined than ever to finally win the trophy.
However, Les Blues have shown in this World Cup that nothing seems to disturb them. The absence of N’Golo Kante, Paul Pogba, Karim Benzema, Christopher Nkunku, Lucas Hernandez and Presnel Kimpembe have not affected France one bit.
Similarly, Didier Deschamps will be hoping that his side’s strong mentality will help them get past Lionel Scaloni’s side. It will be the rare instance of a nation defending their crown and Lloris will want that.
